The Chicago School

The Chicago School of Professional Psychology is an independent, nonprofit graduate school that has provided outstanding education in a student-centered environment for nearly 30 years.

At The Chicago School, we are dedicated to keeping pace with the ever-growing application of the discipline of psychology to real-world environments. With an emphasis on practical applications, we strive to impart the knowledge and skills that are integral to the changing health, organizational, forensic, and human development needs of our society.

Master Degree Programs

The Chicago School’s Master’s degree programs are innovative, online programs designed for working adults. Our programs promote learning by harnessing the expertise and experience that working professionals bring to the classroom. Every course includes an opportunity to apply learning to the work setting. Through our curriculum, you will be able to integrate theoretical learning with the practice of making a positive difference.

Master of Arts in I/O Psychology in Workplace Diversity

Diversity and multicultural training has been a part of The Chicago School mission for more than 25 years. It is a specialty for which the school has received national recognition. The Master of Arts in I/O Psychology degree with a specialization in Workplace Diversity is particularly relevant for people working in human resources, affirmative action, equal opportunity offices, and cross cultural workforces.

Master of Arts in I/O Psychology in Organizational Effectiveness

Designed for experienced human resource professionals and management consultants, the Master of Arts in I/O Psychology program with a specialization in Organizational Effectiveness allows participants to choose from graduate-level courses to design an individualized curriculum to respond to their specific career goals, experiences, and challenges.

Master of Arts in I/O Psychology in Leadership for Healthcare

The Chicago School’s Master of Arts in I/O Psychology with a specialization in Leadership for Healthcare Professionals is designed for experienced healthcare professionals. Current professionals will build the necessary skills to become successful in a leadership role in the healthcare field and to make business decisions that positively affect the quality of patient care. This program teaches participants to deal with the legal framework of the healthcare industry, its systems of care, and the implications of social, cultural, and behavioral aspects of health-related issues.

Master of Arts in I/O Psychology in Consumer Psychology

Master’s Degree in I/O Psychology with a specialization in Consumer Psychology from The Chicago School teaches students the skills to understand the consumer decision making process. Participants will learn the psychology of drawing attention to their product or brand in the marketplace. What attracts customers? What motivates them? What keeps them coming back? Students will understand the answers to these and other important questions.

Master of Arts in Forensic Psychology

The rapidly growing field of Forensic Psychology focuses on the application of psychology and mental health knowledge to the law and our legal system. The Chicago School's Forensic Psychology M.A. program is the only one of its kind in the Midwest.

It is designed specifically for professionals who work in fields such as:

  • law enforcement
  • corrections
  • victim assistance
  • court, probation, and protective services
  • jails and prisons
  • specialized agencies such as child advocacy centers
  • Graduates will develop mastery to:

    • Apply psychology and mental health knowledge to legal and public policy arenas in an ethical, academically informed, and research-based manner
    • Perform risk assessment, intervention, and treatment planning for various problems and populations
    • Apply the necessary interpersonal, behavioral, academic, and technical skills for application in a variety legal and law enforcement environments
    We also offer an Applied Forensic Psychology Certificate.

    Certificate in Applied Forensic Psychology

    The Certificate in Applied Forensic Psychology enables participants already working in these fields to advance their careers through greater knowledge about the application of psychological concepts and skills to the provision of services within these fields.

    This sequence can also be completed as a specialization within the 20-month Master of Arts in Forensic Psychology program.
